Appearance: Yugi is a short boy, and a late bloomer. He still looks rather childish in face and body, seeming more twelve that sixteen. He has pale skin and wide, bright violet eyes. He has tri-colored hair with purple as the back, then black, and then blonde in the front, all done up in spikes. He usually wears clothes that are punkish in style or his school uniform. He also always wears a choker of some form and, surprise to himself, the Millennium Puzzle on a chain around his neck.
EDIT: Due to Belldandy's magic and Atem making a wish, Yugi is now around 5'6 instead of being a complete midget.
Personality: Yugi is very kind hearted. He hates to hurt others and will do anything to avoid it. He doesn't really seem to hate. He appears completely innocent and naive with his demeanor. He's very polite and formal until he gets comfortable with people, though he is always well mannered for the most part. He is always willing to be friends with anyone as long as they haven't tried to hurt his friends or kill someone and even then, he may give them a second chance. However, he is not a doormat. He does have a strong will and do whatever it takes to protect someone who needs help.
Abilities/Strengths: Yugi has an almost indomitable spirit. He does what he has to. The only thing that has caused him to question himself to the point incapability is when someone almost dies because of him (or Atem.)
The Millennium Puzzle. Yugi doesn't know how to control it yet, but he could learn and the result would be magic over the mind. Mainly a way to break a mind or maybe even clear it of darkness. It may also allow him to enter people's mind or a dark magical realm. He may also learn to summon monsters from his duel monsters deck. It's also a very good luck charm.
Duel Monsters. Yugi is very, very good at the game.
Yugi also seems to take a beating quite well. His small frame may also be helpful for sneaking or getting into small places.
Weapons: The Millennium Puzzle and its magical abilities explained above.
Duel Monster cards for either a game or perhaps summoning if he could grasp that power.
Weaknesses: He's human. He's also small. Other than the Puzzle and Spirit, he's not very extraordinary. He's even considered a wimp. He also cannot bear the thought of hurting anyone.
History: Yugi's father is an archeologist and his mother, though lives with him and his grandfather, if often out of the house. Yugi spends most of his home time with his grandfather in result and helps him with the Game Store they live over.
Eventually, Yugi received the Millennium Puzzle from his Grandfather. He said no one has solved the Puzzle, and after seeing Yugi's skills with Puzzles and games, decided to see if he could. It took a while, but eventually, Yugi did figure it out. He even met his friends Jou and Honda while working on it, only really having Anzu as a friend before. Yugi...doesn't clearly remember what happened at first. He also has many black outs over the next few months after completing the Puzzle.
Later, he discovered that was another presence in his mind. A being he and his friends called Dark Yugi. Then Yami. He didn't understand who Yami was for a while. Neither did Yami. He just knew that Yami came out whenever he needed to win a duel. Eventually, he found out Yami came from the Millennium Puzzle and with each new game and tournament, they started pulling the pieces together about the Millennium Items, Yami, and their connection to Egypt’s past.
They eventually found a way for Yami to learn his past. He had to go to the World of Memories in the Puzzle. So that's what he did. Yugi and the others then followed him. They find out what happened in the past, and they stopped Zorc from destroying everything, and Yami discovered his name; Atem.
After this, Atem had done everything he needed too except for sealing the Millennium Puzzles and moving on. For that, he needed to lose in a Ceremonial Duel.
Yugi was the one who took up the challenge. He knew Atem wouldn't just let him win, so Yugi went all out. He faltered near the end. He didn't want Atem to go, but he knew Atem was meant to move on.
Yugi won. He beat the God Cards and beat Atem and sent him on. The Millennium Items were sealed away. Yugi was sad to see Atem go. Heart broken, really. It felt quiet without the other inside his mind, but he was also glad he could help his friend.
Of course, he was then pulled to Econtra right after he got home and for some reason, had the Millennium Puzzle again.
